How it works
Every change is prepared by one person and signed by another.
That rule, applied to everything that touches your books, is how a small office keeps institutional controls. Here is the path every number takes.
01
Data arrives
Custodian files, fund statements, capital-call notices and trade confirmations.
02
Tray drafts
Reads each document, matches it to the books and proposes entries. Anything it cannot check is marked “not checked”.
03
A purser prepares
Reviews the draft, resolves breaks with the custodian or fund, and attaches the source.
04
The Chief Purser signs
A CPA reviews and approves. The two sign-offs are recorded with names and times.
05
The books update
Written once. Positions, accounting and performance all read the same record.
Decisions that belong to you stay with you. Trades, payments and anything else that moves money are prepared by your office and released by you.
Getting started
We prove the books before we keep them.
Step 1 · [4–6 weeks]
The shadow book
We connect your custodians, collect your fund documents and rebuild your last four quarters in our books. Then we show you, line by line, where they match yours and why any difference exists.
Step 2 · One close
The parallel month
Your office runs a full month beside your current process. You compare the two closes before anything changes hands.
Step 3 · Ongoing
The handover
Your pursers’ office takes the daily reconciliation and the close. Your team keeps the decisions and gets its time back.
What you see
Your morning, in one page.
Sign in and you see what your office did overnight, what it could not check, and the few decisions that are yours. Ask a question in plain English and your purser answers, with the figures and their sources.

Questions we are asked first
Who owns the books?
You do. You can sign in to them at any time and export everything, with its full history, in Excel or through the API.
Do you replace my auditor or tax preparer?
No. Purser does not perform audits or prepare returns. We give your auditor and tax preparer a complete, tied-out package and answer their questions.
Does AI make decisions about my money?
No. Tray reads documents and drafts work. Every figure is calculated by code, every change is approved by two people, and anything that moves money is released by you.
What happens if someone on my team leaves?
Your books, procedures and history live in Purser, not in a person’s head or spreadsheet. [Describe Chief Purser cover and succession.]
Where is my data kept?
[Hosting provider and region.] Each client’s records are isolated in the database itself, and our AI runs on hardware we operate unless you choose otherwise.
